What is the subconscious mind?

Think about it as the bottom part of an iceberg: if what you are aware of and all that you consciously know about yourself and your reality is only the surface bit of the iceberg, what becomes of what you don't know or don't remember about yourself?

So what is THERE in the subconscious mind?

- Outdated 'limiting' belief systems

- Old patterns

- Habits and imprints

- Unresolved traumas and shocks

- Fears and phobias

- Childhood programming

- Impressions collected from senses

In short, the subconscious mind is a data-bank for everything which is not in your conscious mind. It stores your beliefs (a lot of them based on childhood experience and therefore outdated but still active), your previous experiences (both positive and negative ones, including traumas and shocks which still have an active charge in your psyche), your memories, your skills... Everything that you have seen, done or thought is also there.

The subconscious is the part of your mind which operates without your awareness and over which you do not have active control. The part of your mind that creates your dreams is an example of your subconscious.
