Holistic health and dynamic systems
There is a vast difference between healthcare based on traditional Cartesian science (Western medicine) and a healthcare system based on the principles of biophysics and dynamic systems theory (complementary/alternative/energy medicine).
Most branches of healthcare persist in ignoring the new physics and the potential for revolutionary new ways of addressing health problems. With classical diagnostic models, the superimposition of generic labels and practitioner agendas creates dependency on medication and surgical procedures.
One of the most commonly used metaphors in our society is the human body as a machine. At lunch we “fill our tanks” to “keep our motors running.” Our hearts beat like “clockwork.” A complex problem sets our “gears turning.” Is the body simply a machine, as our reductionist tradition and modern language implies? Can we view ourselves as a conglomeration of replaceable “parts”?
Recent discoveries are leading scientists to believe that this is not the case, thus confirming what 'modern' holistic therapists have known all along. Not only our bodies cannot be separated from our mental and emotional states - the consciousness element - but each and every part is necessarily in constant communication with each other in order to maintain balance.
The intricacies of the human body have amazed scientists for generations. Innumerable, entwined feedback loops regulate our internal processes, keeping us within the narrow bounds needed for survival (...) Our bodies conform to a set of non-linear, dynamic rules.
It only makes sense to take a more holistic look at the whole and consider that each individual and unique 'story' cannot be reduced to a single 'fit all' diagnosis and pills.

Sequence of healing: priorities
This concept of priority was born with Kinesiology and is further explored with BodyTalk.
It is now generally understood that any symptom is often only the tip of the iceberg and might have taken years to surface consequent to successive stressors (either physical, emotional, biochemical - such as food intolerances for example - or energetic). It only makes sense that should these stressors still be active or present in a person's life, any relief will be short lived. Which is often what tends to happens with the cartesian medical approach.
As a result within a kinesiology or BodyTalk session we may be guided (through muscle testing) to explore areas you might not expect to 'come up' and might surprise you; This is one of the reasons why we usually recommend 3 sessions for any particular issue you want to address.
Just as the body heals a wound with a particular sequencing of chemical reactions, the body wants to address all healing in a certain order.
This priority is paramount in the balancing process.
